Rockygrass was a blast!  Thanks to all of the kind folks there that run such a great fest.  It was great to see some old friends and make some new ones.  Thanks to Rob Miller from Sweet Sunny South for the picture.

Wow what a tour!  The new site for Grey Fox is fantastic.  Thanks to all the folks that came up to say hello after our sets, we really enjoyed our time in New York State.  Today we head to Floyd, VA to play our first Floydfest.  Then it's back home and on the plane to Colorado for Rockygrass.  See you on the main stage Saturday!

In other news, in respose to the literally hundreds of emails we've received since the release of IV, the album lyrics are finally available online.  We'll be posting the older album lyrics soon so keep checking!

Things have been slow around the office here in Raleigh, but action is a-comin'!  We fly out tomorrow for the Snowbird Folk & Bluegrass Festival in sunny & sober Utah.  Then it's back to the East coast to do a little run north with two great acoustic bands, Crooked Still & The Infamous Stringdusters

And. . .de-det-de-de-det. . .we've officially sold out of the first pressing of IV!  Thanks to everybody that picked it up, for the rest of you, don't worry, there's more on the way.

Cheers to everybody that voted us best band in Wake County.  I guess now the secret is out that we don't live in Chatham County, we just pimp the name out.

Thanks for everybody that came to the show in Virginia, it was our best turnout yet!  Maybe it has to do with having a song with "Richmond" every third word. . .

Check out the Photo page for some new additions from our recent adventures.

Another Overseas Tour About to be Announced!

Things are happening here ladies and gentlemen.  In the midst of taking some time off for Greg to rebuild his home which was destroyed by a bulldozer, the phone has been ringing off the hook.  New shows have been added in New York, Nashville and Chattanooga.  Also, a suprise 7-date November tour is coming together in Ireland and the UK on the heels of our Jools Holland success.  Just when you think you're getting away. . . that's right. . . they pull you back in.

Special unadvertised show tonight Londoners!  Since we're staying a couple extra days for Later. . . with Jools Holland, we've jumped on the bill with label-mate Carlene Carter at Dingwalls.  Last night's show at the Luminaire was really an amazing time, thanks to all of the old and new fans that came out.   We'll look for some familiar faces tonight!

"All Things Must Pass."

Well the last issue of No Depression is on the newsstand folks.  The magazine will surely be missed in its print form, but it seems like there are some clear skies ahead for the folks over there that punch the buttons and pull the levers.   Special thanks to Peter Blackstock for reviewing "IV" in the final issue.  Lets hope that for every door that closes, a new one opens.  All the best.

May 9, 2008:

Whoa, a quick couple of days here. . .we landed in London and recorded a few songs for Bob Harris and BBC 2.  It will air on May 15th.  Listen Here.   Then we scooted to Leicester for our 3rd gig at The Musician.  Good to see some old and new faces there!  Yesterday drove north to Scotland to play the Paisley Arts Center which was a great time.  Today we're in Chorley and off to Newcastle tomorrow.  Sad to report that our beer intake has suffered from lack of time. . .

May 6, 2008:

Played last night at McHugh's in Belfast.  It is one of the oldest pubs in town, founded in 1711.  Now I know that there are some Irish Pubs in the states, but they were founded in 2002 so this was a nice course in real pub.  Today was a well deserved day off.  We fly to London tomorrow to start the Jools Holland countdown!  First stop is loyal BBC 2 DJ Bob Harris' show.  Supposedly Emmylou Harris will be in the studio after us. . . .jeez, I hope we don't play too long.

May 5, 2008:

Who could it be here in Kilkenney, Ireland?  Well its Tift Merritt and the boys.  It was good to relax with them and take in some Guinness on what we've been told was the most beautiful day of the year.

-CCL

May 1, 2008:

Who is celebrating Labor Day in Bergen?  Well it's none other than our dear friend Kenny Chesney.  Skoål Kenny!  Our next stop is Kilkenney.  That's right. . . Kill-Kenny.  We'll probably need to rewind real slow.

April 30, 2008:

So here we are again in beautiful Bergen, Norway.  It is kind of weird to see our name ahead of Robyn Hitchcock and John Paul Jones, but then again I guess we're the Beatles over here (or at least the Rutles). . .

April 29, 2008:

Thanks for all the kind words about our World Cafe Live session!  It is up in the Archive for those who missed the live broadcast.  Check it out!

April 25, 2008:

Here we go again!  Did I pack everything?  Mic, signpost, flag?

This is truly going to be an exciting tour.  We are visiting some places we've been and some we ain't.  So excited to finally go to Ireland!  Check the Tour page for tour dates and keep an eye here for updates.  For those of you at the shows, we have some special Europe only T-Shirts and Hatch Tour Posters so pack some extra cash.

We just got the word that we're booked on Later. . .with Jools Holland! This will be on air in the UK on May 13th live and then on the 16th in a longer form, great lineup including the Raconteurs from the US, as well as Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds

Cheers,

- CCL
