October 31, 2008:

Happy Halloween everybody. Just one more day until John can return his Kenny Loggins outfit.

We'll be playing a special local tribute show this Sunday November 2nd to raise money for Jan Johansson who taught John Teer fiddle some years ago. He's the one on the left in this picture which was taken before his heart started playing out of tune. Ya'll Come!

October 30, 2008:

Tickets have been flying for our return to the UK and Ireland in November.  Due to our quick sell-out in London, a second show has been added at The Luminaire on the 25th.  We're cooking up something that you can only get at these shows so stay tuned and get your tickets.  See you there!

October 22, 2008:

Thanks for everyone that came out to the show last weekend, it was indeed a blast.  Without direction we unknowingly played every song from IV.  Now go to the State Fair before it's too late!

In other news, our triumphant return to the UK & Ireland in November is fast approaching.  For those of you who don't have tickets, London is sold out and others are soon to follow so head to the Tour page and get some tickets!

October 13, 2008:

Back to the business at hand here.  Our show this friday at the Cat's Cradle in Carrboro, NC is also a launch party for the new and improved No Depression website.  There will be a used CD sale that will benefit MusiCares.  All discs will be $5 and you can bring some of your own castoffs to donate to the sale.

The show itself, with The Thad Cockrell opening, is almost sold out so if you wanna go, get your tickets!

October 3, 2008:

Last day.  We've had an incredible two weeks with Jonas Fjeld all around the Blue Ridge.  Thanks to everybody at Echo Mountain in Asheville for making us feel at home yet again.  We recorded more than 20 tunes and those will be whittled down for a March Norwegian release.  US release will follow and we'll let you know.

We'll be in Chattanooga, TN tomorrow for the 3 Sisters fest on the river downtown.  Showtime 4pm.  See you there!

September 27, 2008:

Historic RCA Studio B.  We spent a day in the footsteps of giants.  Now closed to production work, Studio B is used as a teaching facility for Belmont College as well as a stop on the Country Music Hall of Fame tour.  Thanks for everyone who made this session happen.  We cut four songs in a long day and everybody learned a little something.

September 26, 2008:

Time to eat.  We came - we saw - we ate.  Konneroc 2008.  Thanks to everybody that made this happen.  We'll never forget the time and hope you folks enjoy the tunes when they come out in 20??.

September 21, 2008:

We got to Konneroc and we had a blast.  It's fun to play some tunes with the boss.  A couple of tunes a day for a few days with good friends is the way to go.  There's something about that river and it's something you should know. . . you should spread the lime.

September 20, 2008:

A day that will live in the history of music as the first day that a Norwegian wore a Seersucker Suit after Labor Day. Not to mention on stage at the Historic Paramount Theatre in Bristol Tennessee.  Thanks Bristol, thanks to The Rhythm & Roots Reunion.  He's old but he can still Rock'n'Rolf.

September 18, 2008:

Time to work.  We're headed out tomorrow to play the AMA conference friday night at The Station Inn.  Then it's off to Bristol TN/VA for Rhythm and Roots (4pm and 7:30).  Then we spend a week in seclusion with Jonas Fjeld working on songs for the follow up to Amerikabesøk.  After that week we head back to Nashville for two days is historic Studio B, ending it all with a week at Echo Mountain in Asheville where IV was cut.  If we're still alive and singing at that point, we'll be in Chattanooga on Saturday October 4th.  See you there?

September 12, 2008:

We're flying out this morning to play Pickamania in New Mexico.  Unfortunately for us our flight goes through Dallas which is a little windy thanks to Ike. . .I hope we make it there and back in one piece eh?

Thanks to Jeni Richard for this great photo of the yellow jacket that wanted to kiss me all during our set at the Black Swamp Festival this past weekend.

September 10, 2008:

Just wanted you folks to know how hard life on the road is.  Last weekend as we attempted to drive to Kent Ohio, a tractor-trailer jackknifed on the highway and stopped all traffic.  Chandler was at the wheel and with a couple deep breaths, he drove over two drainage ditches in the median and into oncoming traffic.  We survived and took an old highway around the wreck.  Then we stopped for ice-cream.

September 5, 2008:

On the road again.  Playing the historic Southgate house tonight right outside Cinncinatti in Newport, KY.  Then it's off to Kent State to play Kent Stages. . .we promise we won't play "Ohio."  Sunday will find us in Bowling Green, OH for our third Black Swamp Festival.  See you there!

August 27, 2008:

Happy Hump-Day everybody.  We had a great time with Tift and the boys on Sunday.   Finally got over the punch at the party afterwards. . .you know I think somebody spiked that stuff.  We're excited about some stuff on the horizon.  Some great festivals, the AMA conference, & then Jonas Fjeld will be here at the end of September to record the follow up to Amerikabesøk.   We'll see some of you Saturday at the RedBone Willie festival.  We hit the stage at 6:30pm.

August 22, 2008:

We'll see you Wilmington folks out this Sunday for a show with (Legendary, Grammy Nominated, New New Yorker) Tift Merritt!  The show is to celebrate Five Years of great music on 106.7 the Penguin and will be held at newly renovated Greenfield Amphitheater.  See you there.  Tickets.

August 21, 2008:

The kind folks from CTV (Canadian Television) had us out to Mitch's Tavern in Raleigh to talk shop last night.   They're taking a little tour through the great state of North Carolina and we were proud to represent just one piece of its rich musical heritage.  We have no idea when it will air, but if you live in Canada, get out your TV and stare at it until we show up, then give us a call and let us know how it looked.  We'll be there as soon as we can.

August 6, 2008:

Tomorrow its off to beautiful Nashville, Tn to play at the World Famous Station Inn!  Then we head to Henderson, Ky to play friday and saturday at Bluegrass in the Park.  For all these years, it's really our first official play in the great state of Kentucky so we hope to see some of you there!

August 4, 2008:

In and out of another plane. . . thanks to Pickathon for getting us in the air for their tenth festival.  This is a great festival every August in the Portland area.  We caught great sets by the Red Stick Ramblers, the Everybodyfields, Crooked Still, Wayne Hancock,  Langhorn Slim, Ian Thomas, Martha Scanlan. . . and Chandler fell in love with Tom Heinl. . . as you should too.
