Winter Stories Released!

Winter Stories is released!  We are so excited to get this special album out into the world.  We've had several nice folks [no depression for example] say some really nice things about the album so far, Judy even had an amazing profile in the New York Times.  You can now hear it on all streaming platforms and purchase it where you choose to buy music these days. . . Schoolkids Records in the Triangle is a great spot.

CCL with Judy Collins & Jonas Fjeld

Back in February we secretly sequestered ourselves at Echo Mountain Studio in Asheville, NC with the legendary Judy Collins and Norwegian superstar Jonas Fjeld.  On Friday November 29th, we are proud to finally share with you the fruits of that magical time in Asheville, the album “Winter Stories.”  The album puts a wintertime spirit behind songs from Judy's catalog, new collaborations between Dave, Jonas Fjeld & pianist Russell Walden, as well as classics by Jimmy Webb, Stan Rogers & Joni Mitchell.  CCL was honored to be a part of such an amazing session, to work and learn from such musical legends, and hope the album is the perfect complement to a cozy winter’s evening.  Presently you can catch us all onstage as we present "Winter Stories" live and in person.  Tour Dates above!

Electric Holiday Tour 2019!

That's right folks, we're back in action this December bringing some good holiday cheer to the great state of North Carolina.  This year’s edition of the Electric Holiday Tour will feature one long set centered around the new CCL sound as well as a few talented friends (Jay Brown & Johnny Irion!) filling out the stage and helping us dip into Santa’s sack of AM Gold.  So get your skis shined up, grab a stick of juicy-fruit and come on out to the show.

Last CCL Tour of 2019?

After a great weekend visiting the Birthplace of Country Music in Bristol and the Carolina Theatre in Greensboro, we're headed on our last tour of the year all the way to Texas.  Hope you can come be a stranger with us.  All the best.

CCL by Daniel Coston

Start me Up!

What a great time last weekend.  Thanks to our pal Mike Duncan for this sweet photo from Wilkesboro.  We are headed out tomorrow to Knoxville and Chattanooga.  Really excited to return to The 3 Sisters Festival in Chattanooga, they have been a friend to the band for many years and we've got a special show lined up just for them.  See y'all there.

D.C. to Wilkesboro this Weekend

We're excited to take the new show out this weekend to a couple of our favorite haunts.  Headed up The Hamilton in Washington D.C. and then to The Carolina in the Fall Festival in beautiful and hopefully chilly Wilkesboro.  {Links Above} A lot of great bands on the bill at this festival hosted by The Kruger Brothers.  Hope to see y'all out and enjoying some Fall weather!

eTown and Beyond

Wow. What a time we had on eTown with Nick and Helen Forster, Anders Osborne and the McIntosh County Shouters. We played a few songs and Dave had a short interview with Nick, then the show culminated in a hand-off of the song "The Last Time" that Keith Richards & Mick Jagger appropriated from The Staple Singers. Needless to say we had a chance to hand it back to its roots and it was one of those indescribable 'tingle-all-over' experiences. You can see that song by clicking here. We've got good times behind and good times ahead so as always, thanks for stopping by.

Headed to the Northeast

Excited to hit the trail this week for some banjo-rolling good times. We'll be in Gettysburg, PA for their classic "grass" fest and then way up to Vermont for the Green Mountain BG Festival, Saturday Wildflowerin' in White Mills, PA, finishing up Sunday in Rowayton, CT - a free show in an old haunt. Hope to see you cool folks out coolin'.

City of New Orleans

Headed back to Colorado for a special weekend of gigs.  We're sharing the stage with the legendary Judy Collins on Saturday & Sunday as part of Mountain Rails Live.  The Rio Grande Railroad will take a trainload of folks on a 2 hour journey into the Colorado hills where on the tip of a mountain we will do a short opening set and perhaps a small collaboration with the legendary Judy Collins.  One of the train cars is actually where Steve Goodman wrote "City of New Orleans!"  Super cool and completely wind & solar powered.  All Aboard!

Colorado Bound

Headed to one of our favorite haunts - the first state outside our own that we toured as a band - and one that always greets us with open arms.  A lot has changed since those early days but we freely admit that we can still share a tent when it comes down to it.  Excited to get back to some of our favorite familiars as well as making our second appearance at the Palisade Bluegrass & Roots Festival.  Thanks to Skillet over at Crawlspace Press for this sweet "Price is Right" Tour Poster.  Yo-de-lay-he-hoo!
